The offshore wind industry doesn’t have a talent shortage.
It has a guidance shortage.
Our story
At the age of 17, Sarah learned that building offshore wind farms along the entire US coastline would generate FOUR times the then-current US electricity demand. In that moment, she decided to dedicate her life to advancing offshore wind globally. But there was a problem: She didn’t know what her career options were, what she should study, what skills were the most critical, or which companies to network with. Though she managed to secure a job after graduation, many of her contacts did not.
More than 10 years later, while teaching kids & teenagers about offshore wind, a similarly motivated young girl excitedly asked how she could become an offshore wind engineer. The answer to study maths and science in school, get an engineering degree, and network with the correct companies given by the adults in the room, while correct, notably left the girl confused. It was then that Sarah realized that the same problem that she had faced was not yet solved, so she decided to create WindPath to tie together the stories of the students and the industry where she had spent her whole career to illuminate clear pathways for the passionate in an industry poised to power the world.
